Learning Specialist/School Counselor – Full Time
Clearwater Central Catholic seeks a full-time Learning Specialist/School Counselor for the 2023-2024 school year. The Learning Specialist/School Counselor supports student learning by working closely with the Dean for Learning and Achievement, Dean for Personal Growth, teachers, parents, and outside professionals, and reports directly to the Assistant Principal. This highly specialized professional is responsible for the overall coordination, oversight, monitoring, and remediation of student support services for a determined number of students on our campus.
As a Learning Specialist, this role provides support to students through significant knowledge of learning disabilities and their educational implications, the ability to interpret test results of cognitive and achievement abilities (psycho-educational assessments) and designing appropriate accommodations within our reach, knowledge of legal standards in compliance with state and federal laws, and an understanding of diverse teaching and learning strategies across the curriculum using a coaching approach.
As a School Counselor, this role helps students succeed in school and plan their careers and college paths. An integral part of the total education system, school counselors help students form healthy goals, mindsets, and behaviors. With the aid of a school counselor, students learn to develop effective collaboration and cooperation skills, practice perseverance, develop time management and study skills, and learn self-motivation and self-direction habits. Essential skills include student appraisal and evaluation methods, including interpretations and analysis of standardized tests or other assessment results to assist students in college and career exploration, academic skills, and social-emotional development.
Boys Varsity Soccer Coach
Clearwater Central Catholic High School seeks a boys soccer head coach. The ideal candidate will display successful high school coaching experience and a passion for developing young men and players in a Catholic school setting. Available teaching positions are not yet finalized for 2023-24 but may be considered. Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background check, Safe Environment training and FHSAA Certification.
