- What
- National PSAT Day - Early Dismissal
- When
- 10/8/2025
The PSAT testing day is for all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (Seniors have a holiday).
This test is also the qualifier for National Merit Scholarships for juniors.
WHAT TO BRING:
• Bring a fully charged iPad and be ready for digital testing with the BlueBook Exams app installed and updated. Students will use test ticket codes provided by the school to access the test, and NO REGISTRATION is required by students.
• You may also bring your own calculator if you wish, although there will be an on-screen calculator during the test. If you bring your calculator, these are the options (check with your Math teacher if you are unsure on this):
o Graphing calculator
o Scientific calculator
o Four-function calculator (not recommended)
• A pen or pencil to use on the allotted scratch paper as needed.
START OF THE DAY:
• Be here for the regular school starting time of 7:45 am.
• You must be dressed in uniform.
• Report to your assigned room, which for most are your HOMEROOM CLASSES. The Science Bldg will be for students with extended time. Students in the MERIT Program will also have a separate testing location, unless they have extended time.
• Homeroom teachers will let you know the testing location the week before testing. (Student lists will be posted on classroom doors on testing day.)
• All students must be in school.
END OF TESTING:
• PSAT/NMSQT testing should end between 10:30 am - 11:00 am if there are no issues with the testing platform. Students will be dismissed individually from their testing room.
• Students who have been approved for extended time will be dismissed around 11:30-12 pm, unless they do not use their full extended time. Students with extended time may now move to the next section after standard time has elapsed. These students will be testing in the 700 (Science) building and should report there. Students with extended time are permitted to bring a snack to have during break times.
Test prep materials and sample questions are available on the testing websites, which can be easily found from the links listed below:

In addition, students can use their SARA app to review areas that may need reinforcement. Also, the English and Math teachers will be discussing test preparation in their classes.
Again, please note that this is a full uniform day. It is strongly advised that students not bring a cellphone into the testing room. Cellphones that are with students are to be completely turned off and will be held by the teacher for the duration of the testing, including during breaks. Students may not wear an Apple watch or other smart watch.
