Tradition of Excellence

History and Tradition

1978 cross country state championship team with signsFrom the earliest days of the athletic program to the enthusiastic spirit of the student body today, CCC has always enjoyed a brother and sisterhood of sport and participation in campus life that would rival any school in the nation. Since 1962, CCC students and CCC athletes have embraced the challenge of competition and have demonstrated a commitment to sportsmanship, team play, and success, on and off the playing field. With CCC Hall of Fame coaches, championship athletic teams, star athletes, loyal fans, dedicated and supportive alumni, outstanding athletic boosters as well as a tradition of excellence second to none, CCC has been empowered to truly make a difference in the lives of the young men and women it has been fortunate to call its own.  Indeed, it has!

Since CCC’s founding, our athletics teams have experienced outstanding success. CCC athletes and teams have won 341 District, Sectional and Regional Championships. Teams representing the school have participated in 92 Final Four’s with 21 state runner-up finishes and a total of 36 State Championships! Individual athletes have participated in FHSAA Championship events and have won 21 individual State Championships! When we look at team and individual appearances after winning District Championships, CCC’s athletic program has appeared over 500 times in FHSAA Championship events. In the school years of 1999-2000 and 2003-2004 CCC received from the FHSAA the prestigious Fred E. Rozelle Sportsmanship Award recognizing schools that exhibit exemplary sportsmanship during the regular season and FHSAA Championships.
