Fr. Bernard Overberg
The Learning Center at Clearwater Central Catholic High School is named for Fr. bernard Overberg (1754 - 1826). As a child he struggled to learn. Starting his secondary education at the bottom of his class, he ended his first year at the top. He began to train and establish standards for teachers and found attractive ways for students to learn. Fr. Overberg influenced Sister maria Aloysia, foundress of the Coesfeld Sisters of Notre Dame (the sisters whose dedication guided CCCHS to the internationally recognized school it is today.) The Learning Center carries Fr. Overberg's tradition of teaching for success which is the ultimate aim of all that encompasses the goals of CCCHS for its students.
