Department Goals

The Student Will:

  • Confidently share artistic talent with the community.
  • Express himself or herself through performing arts utilizing and building on student talent and energy.
  • Develop an appreciation for music.
  • Develop and use one's musical talent through guitar classes and performances

Department Highlights

  • Video production classes utilize Windows and Mac computers for editing content and adding artistic expression.
  • Students have an opportunity to use critical thinking skills and creativity in the study of art and art production.
  • World culture becomes fascinating through art. 
  • Students successfully compete for art awards and scholarships at local, regional and national levels.
  • Theater, and music teachers are experienced and well qualified in their fields.
  • Formal and informal performance opportunities are available throughout the year, including Homecoming skits, Air Band, Liturgy and National Library Week.
  • There is a chartered Thespian Society on campus. This is an Honor Society.
  • Students successfully participate in Drama competitions at local, state and national competitions and/or workshops.
  • The CCCHS Chapter of the National Art Honor Society was recognized at the National Art Educational Association program for recognition of excellence.
