Congratulations to Chris Hardgrave

Congratulations to alumnus Chris Hardgrave ’87 who was promoted to Colonel on June 6, 2014, and also accepted the prestigious position of “Continental NORAD Region – 1st Air Force/National Capital Region Liaison Officer”. He will be the high-level Inter-Agency Liaison to the Department of Homeland Security, TSA, U.S. Secret Service, Federal Aviation Administration and the National Capital Region Coordination Center.

After graduating from Clearwater Central Catholic High School, Chris attended gh-level Inter-Agency Liaison to the Department of Homeland Security, TSA, U.S. Secret Service, Federal Aviation Administration and the National Capital Region Coordination Center.

Chris attended Florida State University, where he was active in the Air Force ROTC. Upon graduation, he was given a fighter pilot slot. He has been stationed, around the world, as an F-15 Fighter Pilot. Most recently, he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. When he made the switch to being an Alert-Fighter Pilot (at Andrews), he switched from flying F-15s to F-16s.

For the past few years, Chris has been the Squadron Commander of the 113th Aerospace Control Alert Detachment (at Andrews Air Force Base). His squadron is the most active “air defense” unit in the nation. The 113th fighter unit protects the airspace over Washington DC.Florida State University where he was active in the Air Force ROTC. Upon graduation, he became a fighter pilot and was stationed around the world as an F-15 and F-16 Fighter Pilot. Most recently, he had been stationed at Andrews Air Force Base where he made the switch to being an Alert-Fighter Pilot.
